Phnom Penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Sunday, the 6th day of the 6th lunar month 2566 on October 30, 2022 will provide rice to 6,112 families affected by floods and the Mekong River in Prey Veng province, the ceremony was held in front of the Cambodian Red Cross. According to HE Chea Somethy, Governor of Prey Veng Province, at the end of September and the beginning of October 2022, the rainfall will increase and the Mekong River will increase as of October 12, 2022. Ta Tam (in front of Prey Veng market) reached a maximum height of 6.47 meters (emergency level 7.50 meters), affecting and damaging farmers’ crops such as rice, vegetables and 11 local crops. In 49 communes and 245 villages, 6,970 hectares of land were affected, equivalent to 7083 families, of which 5,670 hectares were damaged, equivalent to 6,217 families, of which the area that could be rehabilitated was rice. There are 9 districts on an area of 5,435 hectares, equivalent to 6,112 families were provided by Samdech Techo Prime Minister on this occasion.
