Phnom Penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Sunday night, December 11, 2022, led a high-level delegation of the Royal Government of Cambodia to visit European countries to co-chair. Of the ASEAN-EU Anniversary Summit to Celebrate the 54th Anniversary of the ASEAN-EU Dialogue Partnership, which will be held on December 14, 2022 in Brussels.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Plenary Meeting of the Anniversary Summit will review the current ASEAN-EU cooperation and determine Future directions for ASEAN-EU relations. Leaders are expected to focus on ways to strengthen the economy and people-to-people contacts, digital transformation, connectivity, ensuring green change, energy and food security, and sustainable development. Leaders will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern and interest.
During the commemorative summit, a number of accompanying events will be held, including lunch, the 10th ASEAN-EU Business Summit Roundtable, the ASEAN-EU Youth Summit Europe and the celebration of ASEAN-EU People’s Cooperation on Higher Education.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further stated that before attending the Summit to commemorate the anniversary of Samdech Techo PM, Prime Minister Hun Sen will pay a working visit to the French Republic, in which HE Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, will welcome Samdech Techo PM at Élysée Palace and will host a dinner in honor of Samdech Techo. He will also attend a conference on supporting the resilience of the Ukrainian people, a meeting with the Cambodian-French Business Council and a meeting with representatives of Vinci Airport.
During his stay in Brussels, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with a number of European leaders. Samdech Techo will also have a working breakfast with HE Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and HE Phorn Kham Viphavan, Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen will also meet with Cambodians living in Europe.
