The Secretary of State said that for 18 months in 202221 to 2022, that is, 12 months in 2021 and 6 months in 2022, the authorities have cracked down on 1,353 kilograms of wildlife in Mondulkiri province. In the past six months, 235 kilograms of wildlife meat in Mondulkiri province have also been cracked down on.
His Excellency Neth Pheaktra added that if the number of repression and prevention is counted, the relevant authorities have been more active. This action took place after the start of the Zero Trap campaign, which the Ministry of Environment and its partners had previously implemented.
At the same time, the Secretary of State called on people to stop eating wild animals, call on restaurants to stop selling wild animals, call on people who enter the forest to kill wild animals to stop immediately. “In the past, those who posted the killing of wild animals have been criticized and hated, and some of them have realized their guilt and are determined to stop such activities,” he said.
