Samdech Techo Hun Sen to Provide Rice Seed and Food to More Than 6,000 Families in Kampong Thom Province Tomorrow Morning

Phnom Penh: In the morning of October 29, 2022, tomorrow, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, will provide 684,400 kg of rice seeds and food to 6844 families from 9 cities, 48 districts, communes and sangkats. 298 villages affected by floods in Kampong Thom province.
According to HE Nguon Rattanak, Governor of Kampong Thom Province, Kampong Thom Province, a central lowland area, was affected by the floods, affecting 9 cities, 51 districts, 29 communes and 292 villages. Then evacuated 1,501 families to a safe place. Affected 25,395 hectares of rice, damaged 12,307 hectares and 1,766 hectares of mixed crops, damaged 1,256 hectares and completely damaged infrastructure in 2 places, some rural roads were damaged, affected schools, health centers and some pagodas.
In order to respond and solve urgently, the provincial / municipal administrations, departments and units of the Armed Forces are ready to stand and inspect the areas that are facing floods on a regular basis. In addition, the provincial administration has disseminated information to the public and the people throughout Kampong Thom province through the use of the 1294 advance notice system so that people can be vigilant and prepared in advance. Also informed the public and people living along the Stung Sen and Stung Stong to increase vigilance and flood preparedness.
In order to solve the daily life of the people who are poor and affected by the floods, the Provincial Administration of the National Committee for Disaster Management has distributed food, which is the food reserve of the Royal Government and other benefactors to 15,494 families.
Separately, His Excellency Dr. Hun Manet and Lok Chumteav Pich Chanmonin also provided 1,000 packages of medicine to be distributed to the people.
