Ministry of Interior to Strengthen the Implementation of the Roles and Duties of Commune / Sangkat Clerks in the 2022 Voter List and Voter Registration Process

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior has instructed the Capital-Provincial Governors to strengthen the roles and responsibilities of Commune / Sangkat Clerks in the 2022 voter list and voter registration process.
In order for the process of reviewing the voter list and voter registration in 2022 to run smoothly and achieve successful results according to the plan of the NEC, HE Sak Setha, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior, on October 28, 2022 requested the Governor Provinces must guide and implement some of the following tasks:
1 / Each Commune / Sangkat Clerk shall take care to perform his / her duties and responsibilities related to the examination of the voter list and voter registration in 2022 in accordance with the laws, regulations and procedures for the examination of the voter list and voter registration. .
2. Each commune / sangkat clerk must be present on a regular basis to participate in the performance of his / her duties related to the examination of the voter list and voter registration in 2022, except for the most urgent business or health problems that can not work. In case the Commune / Sangkat Clerk is absent and unable to perform his / her duties, he / she shall report to the Commune / Sangkat Chief and shall request for leave in accordance with the prescribed principles, procedures and procedures.
The municipal, district, and khan governors shall coordinate and assign one official of the municipal, district, and khan administration to complete the work related to the examination of the list and registration of the 2022 election to replace the commune / sangkat clerk who is absent or does not have a commune / sangkat clerk to ensure the sustainability of this work.
3. For the organization of meetings and trainings to invite commune / sangkat clerks to participate in the Capital and Provincial Administration, to examine the possibility of postponing the period of review of the voter list and voter registration in 2022.
