Samdech Techo Shares Cambodia’s Experience with the President of Ukraine and Says No War Can End With War

Phnom Penh: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, shared his experiences and told His Excellency Volodymyr Zelinsky, President of Ukraine, that no war can end with war.
On November 1, Samdech Techo Hun Sen had a telephone conversation with His Excellency Volodymyr Zelensky.
To begin with, the President expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to Cambodia for its support and co-founding of the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions and Cambodia’s specific position on the Ukraine War.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen was pleased to meet by telephone with His Excellency the President and expressed his condolences over the tragedy that has been taking place in Ukraine.
The Prime Minister also expressed concern over the recent attacks on Kiev and other cities in Ukraine, which have resulted in loss of life, many injuries and severe damage to civilian infrastructure, power outages and water shortages. Serious and causing severe energy and food crises and rising global inflation.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister shared the experience that Cambodia went through and stressed that “the experience that Cambodia went through and Samdech’s own understanding shows that no war can end with war.”
The Prime Minister stressed that Cambodia attaches importance to negotiations and peaceful solutions and hopes that all parties concerned will work for a comprehensive solution to end the war in Ukraine so that Ukraine can regain peace, stability, territorial integrity and development.
At the same time, the Prime Minister reiterated Cambodia’s position on the war in Ukraine that Cambodia adheres to the principles set out in the UN Charter and international law against aggression, threats or the use of force over sovereignty. The territorial integrity of an independent state does not support the separation of states or the invasion of territory from other countries.
