Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng Chairs a Meeting to Pass the Draft National Road Safety Decade 2021-2030
Phnom Penh: Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the National Committee for Road Safety (NCRC), presided over the meeting on November 28, 2022. Draft National Road Safety Decade 2021-2030 with the participation of HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport and Permanent Vice President of NCDD, and HE Lok Chumteav as Vice Chairman – Many other members of the NCC.
On that occasion, Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, President of the NCC, said that today all members of the NCC have come together to pass the draft of the National Road Safety Decade for 10 years. Year from 2021-2030 and this document has already been submitted to the members of the NCC.
He also thanked and commended the General Secretariat of the NCDD for its efforts to work with relevant ministries and institutions to consult on the National Road Safety Decade 2021-2030.
Lok Chumteav Mon Manvi, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Secretary General of the NCDD General Secretariat, presented the key points of the National Road Safety Decade 2021-2030 to Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng and the meeting learned that the National Road Safety Action Decade is a 10-year action plan from 2021 to 2030, and the National Road Safety Action Decade from the first time from 2011 to 2021 already implemented.
She continued that this National Decade Plan is also a tool to contribute to the successful implementation of the Rectangular Policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia and in accordance with the National Road Safety Policy, which was approved by the Council of Ministers in the plenary session. On February 21, 2014.
In addition, the Secretary-General of the NCDD stated that this plan is also in line with the United Nations Global Action Plan, which is based on the Law on Road Traffic and in line with the national progress. In all areas and especially in areas related to road traffic activities, such as: population growth rate, economic growth, vehicle growth, road sector development, road traffic accident situation, good experience of law enforcement measures and challenges.
She added that overall, the Second National Road Safety Action Decade 2 is an important roadmap on preventing and reducing deaths and injuries from traffic accidents in accordance with the set goals.
At the same time, HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport and Permanent Vice President of the NCDD, fully supported the National Road Safety Decade for 10 years from 2021-2030. Every corner and set specific strategic goals that can be implemented.
Once again, Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the NCDD, thanked the working group to the National Road Safety Committee (NCDC) for all Has provided many good suggestions to improve the National Road Safety Decade for 10 years from 2021-2030.
Samdech also instructed the General Secretariat of the NCDD to continue the procedure for reviewing this document in order to implement it more effectively.
