Minister of Environment: Safe Village, Commune and Sangkat Competition Will Help People to Live Hygienically, Beautifully and Environmentally Better

Phnom Penh÷His Excellency Say Sam Al, Minister of Environment, stated that through the “Safe Village, Commune, Sangkat” competition within the framework of the 6th qualification, it will contribute to the improvement of the village, commune, and sangkat to be beautiful, free of garbage, and to make life comfortable.  Dignified, civilized, based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment.

Speaking at the Inter-Ministerial Meeting on “Safe Village, Commune, Sangkat Competition” within the 6th Qualification Framework on the morning of September 28, 2022, HE Say Sam Al said that through the implementation of the policy “Village, Commune, Sangkat Competition”  “Safe neighborhood” will make the town, housing, market, as well as a clean tourist area as a tourist attraction.

The Minister said that in the past, the Ministry of Environment has managed waste in villages, communes, districts of many provinces in Cambodia to reduce solid waste and some districts have set up landfills and incinerators.  At the same time, through education and outreach, people are better aware of and participate in maintaining environmental hygiene.

In this ceremony, in order to increase the efficiency and implementation of the policy of “Safe Village, Commune, Sangkat Competition”, HE Minister introduced as well as recommended to partners in the division of roles, tasks and as well as to promote education.  Citizens to make their work more efficient and effective.

In this ceremony, HE Ken Serey Ratha, Director General of Environmental Knowledge and Information, presented the policy of safe and effective villages, communes and sangkats.  Well executed.

His Excellency the Director General of Environmental Knowledge and Information presented the criteria and indicators for evaluating the safety of villages, communes and sangkats, as well as the procedures and the selection process for the successful implementation of the policies of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

It should be noted that in this ceremony, officials from various inter-ministries participated in the lively discussion, which was highly appreciated by Minister Say Sam Al for the implementation of the policy of “Safe Village, Commune, Sangkat Competition” to be more effective.  More in the coming days.
