Indonesia hopes Cambodia will continue to support the successful chairmanship of ASEAN and its AIPA in 2023
Phnom Penh: Her Excellency Dr. PUAN MAHARANI, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed his hope that the National Assembly of Cambodia will continue to support the chairmanship of ASEAN and Indonesia’s IPA in 2023 to be successful.
During the working meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly and President of the 43rd IPA on 24 November, Lok Chumteav Dr. Panmaharani expressed his congratulations to the National Assembly of Cambodia under the leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei. She emphasized that parliamentary institutions have an important role to play in improving people’s lives and strengthening democracy, so parliamentary unity strengthens cooperation between people’s representatives.
Her Excellency Dr. Pan Maharani respectfully requested that Samdech work to strengthen and expand the cooperation between the two National Assembly at all levels. In this regard, she hopes that the National Assembly of Cambodia will continue to support the chairmanship of ASEAN and the President of Indonesia in 2023 to be successful.
In response, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin expressed his pleasure that the Indonesian Parliament led a high-level delegation on a working visit and attended the 43rd IPA General Assembly, hosted by the Cambodian Parliament, in support of the Parliament. Cambodia in its mandate as the President of the General Assembly to fulfill its obligations successfully.
The National Assembly President stated that the National Assembly of Cambodia and Indonesia have supported each other in the international forum. And today’s meeting will continue to contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations, friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially between the National Assembly of Cambodia – Indonesia to better double.
He wished the Indonesian National Assembly success in organizing the 44th IPA General Assembly in 2023.
On that occasion, the President of the National Assembly shared his condolences with the National Assembly and the people of Indonesia who were affected by the devastating earthquake in West Java, which destroyed hundreds of homes, most of them Cambodian children.
